Silent Auction

Silent Auction is a fun way to secure last-minute funds the night of Grand Finale! This is also a wonderful way to acquire a contribution from a business that may have cool services or products, but is not able to give at a higher level.

All silent auction items are due by February 7th, 2025. Physical items must be dropped off at the LLS office on either February 12th or 13th.

Securing a Silent Auction Item

01

Brainstorm

First and foremost, start brainstorming individuals or companies that may have a great auction item to donate. Ask yourself:

  • Is this something that I think a lot of people would like and want to buy? Especially people in the local area?

  • Is this something that would usually be hard for people to buy?

  • What are some fun experiences that local buyers would be interested in?

02

Make the Ask

Remember, each team can only submit THREE (3) items to the silent auction. You probably have tons of great ideas, but make sure that you're asking for the items that will raise the most.

Gift baskets are a great way to increase the number and value of your items. For example, if you secured gift cards from multiple different restaurants, package them together into a "Best of Atlanta Dining" basket!

You can find an ask template here (but AI could also be useful!).

03

Track and Submit

Keep track of the items you have requested and secured in your Goal Planning Workbook. Once you have secured an item, instruct the donor to complete the submission form here (you may complete for the donor with their permission). Include AS MUCH information as possible and make it sound enticing - you want donors to be informed and excited about what they're buying!
